Aaron's Visit

Aaron came to visit the boys for Thanksgiving. We all had a really great time. I had to work but he spent lots of time with the boys. Aaron, James, Titus, Kristy, Dan, David, Patrick, Derek, Karen, Tyler, Dolli, and Ryan all came around the Thanksgiving table to eat the turkey I made. Charlie, Devan, Kelly, and Jan joined us for desert. Everything was wonderful. I love hosting the holidays! It was great to have Aaron here for two whole weeks. He left this morning but we have lots of awesome pics to remember the trip.

Is it REALLY November?!

Do I look like Daddy or what?

That bite tasted weird!

Open wide!
WHAT?

Daddy and me.

Brotherly love.
Hi, my name is Groucho Marx.

Yummo!

Well, a lot has happened since my last post. It is finally starting to get chilly here, which would not be bad except we don't have any heat. I am wearing my coat and Titus is taking a nap in a hat. :) My surgery went well but I had some left over stitches and a bone fragment so I have had some residual pain. I drove the seven hour trip to the surgeon on Thursday and hope to feel better soon.

Aaron came on Wednesday to visit the boys and will be here for about ten more days. He made lobster and crab legs for dinner last night. I think he is Dan's new favorite person. Karen is moving as I write and Dolli moved in with her husband's grandmother until he arrives back in the states. She started working at Kohl's on Wednesday and seems to be enjoying it.

Titus ate rice cereal for the first time last night and did beautifully. He ate two bowls full! He was the neatest first time eater I'd ever seen. He is getting so big. He is over the ninety-fifth percentile for height and weight. He is seventeen pounds and twenty-six inches tall. I started using cloth wipes to go with Titus' cloth diapers. I am officially crunchy! James is getting close to finishing first grade. I think he is pretty close to being smarter than me. He is also growing like a weed.

I am hosting Thanksgiving and am very excited. I enjoy the hubbub! Aaron will be helping me cook. I won't get any time off for Thanksgiving or Christmas except the actual holiday. I wish I had some more time to spend with Aaron and my parents when they come for Christmas! The jury is still out on my job. I am being considered for the director position but am not sure if I will take it. I am not enjoying the position I am in and our benefits package has been put on a freeze so the boys and I don't have insurance as of December first. The director would be more money, but it would still have no insurance or time off. I would have trouble visiting Illinois. My boss from Midwest Stunting Association says Albuquerque is hopping and I should go back to stunting. I will have to think about it some more. Well, that's enough for me right now. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

November 2, 2008

Hello to all,

It has been a blessing and a curse to be off from work this week. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed plus two molars. I am feeling sore but not in pain. I am starving though. No food for a week! It was nice to be home with my boys but I didn't get to enjoy them very much.

It is finally getting cool, even cold, at night here. What is it, November? Can I say I love the weather here? :) I am tired of my skin flaking off but it is a small price to pay. I am very cracked and dry! I could use a whole bottle of Vaseline lotion a day, I think.

I am hoping for a promotion at work soon. The owners are a little scattered but nice. I wish I could stay home with my babies but this is a good job. I am being paid well and I like the people I work with. There is a director position available and I have expressed my interest.

Charlie, Devon, Karen, Tyler, Dolli, and baby Ryan come over once a week and play games. Mostly I visit. It is great to have friends and family here! Dolli has been taking me around town to introduce me to some people. Gotta love Kareoke! The Meyer's, Starnes', and Bruno's went bowling a couple of weeks ago and had a ball. Last weekend we went to the renaissance fair and it was still warm enough for shorts! (November 2)

I am enjoying handbell practice. I have met some very nice ladies at church. We have several performances coming up at church. I am excited. Aaron will be here for one and I hope my parents will be here for another.

Life is going well here. Moving forward has been good to me and for me. I am excited about Thanksgiving. I am the hostess this year. Aaron will be here to visit the boys and depending on what time you count heads, there will be up to twenty people here for food! I guess I'd better start planning. :)

Detailed Update

Well, I have some time tonight so I thought I'd update everyone on the last few months of my life. By the first of July I was definitely ready to meet Titus and tired of being pregnant but on the second I still took James to the free summer movie with Kelly and all of her kids. It was The Bee Movie; not bad. On the seventh I saw my doctor who wanted to induce me on the tenth but I furiously objected. I had been having contractions on and off for a few days and had actually packed the car in hopes that I would just stay at the hospital. I was sent home and took James to the magic show at the library on Tuesday morning. I was having contractions every eight minutes or so and was giving the man sitting next to me a stroke. He kept looking at me like I was crazy and the library ladies kept asking if they needed to drive me home! I guessed the time was soon so James and I visited Goddard one last time, went to the grocery store (for conveniance items for when I came home from the hospital), and some other last minute errands. In the evening I called my doctor but she said I was fine and to stay home. By 2 am there was no denying that I was in labor. Mom and James and I raced to the hospital and I'm sure James will never be the same! My water broke in the front seat of Daddy's PT Cruiser (don't tell) and I was at seven centimeters when I got to the hospital. In about fifteen minutes I was to nine and got stuck there. I finally convinced James to go home with Mom and Aaron showed up about an hour later. I tried to push for about an hour but was having no luck. I was given a C-section and was so tired I fell asleep during the procedure. I finally met Titus Paul Starnes at 6:11 am. He was 7 pounds, 1 ounce and 21 inches long! I was released on Saturday and could not be happier. I hate hospitals! On Sunday morning I took Titus to church for the first time at Crossroads Community. By Wednesday the sixteenth I was so stir crazy that I made Aaron take me to the library and the mall. By Sunday the twentieth I was able to drive so we went to my church for the first time. Over the next week we had lots of adventures like a trip to the park, getting our pictures taken, and going to Grammy and Gee's for a dip in the pool.
By the end of July, the final decision had been made to move to New Mexico.

On the first of August Titus stayed with his Grandma for the first time. She also got the first smile out of him! On the seventh he took his first ride on a carousel and train at Great America. On the eighth I held a garage sale to get ready for the move. On the ninth was the church picnic. It was the last big event at the church before I left so, of course, I went. It was also Titus' one month birthday. The next weekend I finished up a very successful sale. On the seventeenth I has Titus dedicated at church and then the Bell's and I had a combined party. It was Lee, Kileen, and James' birthday, Titus' dedication, and our going away party all in one! It was a big day. On James' sixth birthday, August twenty-first, we boarded the Amtrak for a three day trip to El Paso. It was James' birthday wish. Dan flew to Chicago and drove my car down. On the twenty-third we arrived to meet Kristy. Karen, Tyler, Dolli, Ryan, David, Patrick, and Derek were in the driveway waving when we turned onto the street! It was so wonderful. We tried to take it easy for a few days and then on the twenty-ninth we had a birthday party for Karen and James. Charlie and Devin also came. We all had a great time!

On the first of September James weened his singular and was medication free for the first time in his whole life! Praise the Lord! Titus was starting to hold up his head pretty well by this time. I tried to jump right into life here so the week of the eighth I looked for a job, joined the handbell choir at church, and took James to AWANA. The next week Titus turned two months old and I had several interviews. The next week I had more interviews but no job. On the twenty-first Titus giggled for Kristy. I was sad that I didn't hear it. On the twenty-fourth Titus turned eleven weeks old and I was hired on at The Children's Garden. On the following Monday I started work but not in my permanent position. On the thirtieth Titus finally giggled for me!
So now I think you're all caught up. That seems the be most of the details. We are all enjoying it here. We have game night about once a week. I always have a lot of fun! Kristy works a few nights a week and I help watch the kids. I can find my way to the Wal-Mart, work, church, and Karen's. All is well and life is good. Titus turned three months old on Thursday and is wonderful! James is blending right in here and couldn't be happier. I miss Illinois but I am feeling more and more like this is home. I can't believe the mountain views and am loving the weather. I'll write more soon. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Love to All,

A Quick Note

Well, the computer is feeling cooperative today so I thought I'd better blog before it crashes again. This is my second week at my new job. I'm not in my permanent position yet but it's going well I guess. I really miss my boys and wish I could just stay home! James is adjusting well to New Mexico and is recruiting everyone he know to move here. :) Titus is going to be three months old on Thursday and I am so sad. He is growing up too fast. Wasn't I just pregnant? He is around fifteen pounds and is wearing six month clothes. Overall, life is good but busy. I miss home and all of you! I hope all is well wherever you are too!

My First Blog

I have finally made it into to 21st century. I learned how to find friends on facebook, IM (even two people at a time), and now I am blogging. Who'd of thunk! I am now going to be taught the art of posting a picture. Hope it works!
